Health and Safety comment:

Judicial report: 1) Due to a clerical error, ANOTHER VESPA which competed in Race 4 was inadvertently shown with a weight decrease of 2.0 kilograms. Stewards spoke to the kennelling staff advisedly and reminded them of their obligations.
2) The start times for Races 11 (3.12pm) and 12 (3.27pm) were altered at the request of the TAB.

ESKIMO CHILL (5) - Slow to begin. Ran inwards and bumped with another runner entering the bend. HOMEBUSH TULIP (7) - Crowded leaving the boxes when HOMEBUSH EDGE shifted inwards. HOMEBUSH MYRA (9/6) - Crowded leaving the boxes.
Race 2	SOUTHLAND & OTAGO PHOTO FINISH - C0 - 457	SERGIO DESTROYER (2) - Crowded over the concluding stages when between OPAWA MINE and OPAWA TIMO which ran inwards abruptly. WAIMAK SHEFF (3) - Hampered in the early stages when unable to avoid a fallen runner. BELLE SOME (4) - Lost its footing briefly in the early stages when contacted by a trailing runner. CAWBOURNE STEELE (5) - Bumped leaving the boxes, hampered shortly after when dragged down by LIGHT THAW which shifted inwards. Hampered in the early stages when unable to avoid a fallen runner. LIGHT THAW (6) - Awkwardly placed near heels shortly after the start. MANDY JUNIOR (7) - Inconvenienced through the early stages and when attempting to angle across the heels of BELLE SOME, clipped that runners heel and fell. Post-race veterinary examination revealed pain in the left stifle, with a 14 day stand-down imposed. Presented at Christchurch GRC on 13 October, with the stand-down rescinded under the provisions of Rule 81.6. OPAWA TIMO (8) - Hampered in the early stages when unable to avoid a fallen runner.
Race 3	ASCOT PARK CONSORTIUM - C1 - 390	BROKEN PENNILESS (1) - Checked outwards across heels approaching the bend when placed in restricted room. OPAWA LEAN MEAT (2) - Forced down the track in the early stages by CRONOS. STAR APACHE (5) - Hampered entering the bend when awkwardly near heels. Inconvenienced in the early stages of the straight when becoming awkwardly placed on heels. ROCKET JEWEL (7) - Bumped leaving the boxes. Bumped entering the bend and was unbalanced. Dragged down by STAR APACHE in the early stages of the straight. Post-race veterinary examination revealed no clinical abnormalities. GLORY HOG (9/6) - Bumped leaving the boxes.
Race 4	www.southlandgreyhounds.co.nz - C1 - 390	ANOTHER VESPA (1) - Crowded and lost ground approaching the bend when adjacent to the running rail. Inconvenienced rounding the bend when awkwardly placed near heels. ANA DIOR (3) - Crowded for a short distance rounding the bend. OPAWA IDOL (6) - Bumped on several occasions rounding the bend. BIRDIE TEE (7) - Jostled between runners in the early stages. Placed in restricted room approaching the bend.
Race 5	HAPPY BIRTHDAY DARYL (DAZZLER) SPENCE - C2 - 390	TROUBLESOME BRIT (1) - Proved reluctant to load. DEBORAH BAY (3) - Checked outwards across heels leaving the bend, running wide. SUBTERFUGE (6) - Bumped shortly after the start. Crowded briefly between runners entering the bend. HOMEBUSH SLOAN (7) - Bumped shortly after the start. THESEUS (8) - Raced wide throughout the event.
Race 6	CONGRATULATIONS "HOT N SPICY" - C4/5 - 457	KNOW ANSWER (2) - Forced down the track by ABRASADOR in the early stages, being placed in restricted room shortly after. Bumped entering the bend. HOMEBUSH KELSO (4) - Bumped entering the bend. OPAWA NORRIS (5) - Placed in restricted room briefly rounding the bend. BOTANY ALAN (6) - Placed in restricted room briefly rounding the bend.
Race 7	BELATED HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRENDON BURKE - C3 - 457	KNOW LAPSE (4) - Tightened shortly after the start, losing ground. KNOW HASSLE (5) - Slow to begin. PATTY'S PICK (6) - Crowded and forced down the track leaving the boxes. Awkwardly near the heels of JINJA HEART entering the bend. JINJA HEART (7) - Lost is footing briefly entering the bend when crossing into the line of PATTY'S PICK. BIRCHBROOK (9/2) - Bumped on a number of occasions just prior to entering the straight, losing momentum.
Race 8	GREYHOUNDSASPETS.ORG.NZ - C2 - 457	THORACIC (2) - Improved up onto heels rounding the bend and bumped with another runner. ALBIE MCLEOD (3) - Bumped shortly after the start. Buffeted between runners in the early stages. NINA BAXTER (6) - Hampered entering the straight when outside OBEYANCE. OBEYANCE (8) - Checked outwards across heels entering the straight and collided with another runner. SPRING SAM (9/4) - Bumped on several occasions in the early stages. Bumped rounding the bend, becoming unbalanced.
Race 9	SGRC $26 FIVE WIRE MUZZLE STAKES - C1 - 390	RIB CURLER (2) - Bumped at the start. KNOW SCRUTINY (3) - Tightened leaving the boxes, losing ground. OPAWA OPAL (4) - Tightened leaving the boxes, losing ground. SPEEDY BLUEBLOOD (6) - Tightened leaving the boxes, losing ground. Crowded for a short distance approaching the bend. ANOTHER JAMIE (7) - Ran inwards sharply at the start, hampering inside runners. BRONSON JEWEL (8) - Slow to begin (4L). UNVERIFIED (9/5) - Tightened leaving the boxes, losing ground.
Race 10	MR WHIPPY SOUTHLAND - C4 - 390	MAX STIX (2) - Slow to begin. HOMEBUSH SHANE (6) - Jostled with HOLLY BLUE BLOOD in the early stages. HOLLY BLUE BLOOD (7) - Jostled with HOMEBUSH SHANE in the early stages.
Race 11	ADDED ENERGY STAKES - C1 - 457	LUCIASTAR (3) - Crowded leaving the boxes, losing ground. SOUTHERN HONEY (4) - Crowded rounding the bend having to steadied and check outwards across heels. TODD BLUE BLOOD (5) - Ran wide entering the bend. Tightened rounding the bend when LUCIASTAR ran outwards. HOMEBUSH SKIP (7) - Crowded approaching the bend. OPAWA JIMBO (8) - Forced over extra ground rounding the bend.
Race 12	RACING AGAIN 25TH OCTOBER - C1 - 457	HERITAGE WATCH (2) - Dragged down momentarily entering the bend. KNOW LEAVE (3) - Placed in restricted room entering the bend, becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of HERITAGE WATCH. Lost its footing shortly after when crowded between runners. CAWBOURNE MURF (4) - Unbalanced shortly after the start when contacted by RHINEGOLD. RHINEGOLD (5) - Tightened at the start. PIANISSIMO (6) - Tightened at the start. Ran wide in the early stages when checking across heels. DAN BLUE BLOOD (7) - Tightened at the start. FLAMING SAMBUCA (8) - Ran inwards abruptly from the boxes.
