Judicial report: 1). OPAWA BLINKY (Race 5) - stood down for 28 days and pending a satisfactory trial after failing to pursue the lure.

GOLDSTAR JUNIOR (1) lost ground when squeezed going into the first bend. HAT TRICK CHAOS (7) was turned outwards when awkwardly placed to the outside of DEMAN BLUE BLOOD (4) rounding the bend. HAT TRICK CHAOS was cleared of injury post race. When questioned regarding the improved performance of the winner ANA DIOR (10/8) kennel representative A Washington advised that the dogs work load had been lightened leading up to today's race and that the bitch had appreciated a outside box draw after suffering interference in its most recent start. |
| Race 2 | Waihemo Lodge Hotel Dash - C1 - 295 | WALLY BAXTER (3) was squeezed through the early stages and again entering the bend where it lost ground. HAYLEY JAMES (7) and HOMEBUSH FIRE (8) jostled when exiting the bend. |
| Race 3 | Active Electrical Christchurch Dash - C1 - 295 | UNO JAMES (4) had to check off heels in the run to the bend. SMASH FIRE (6) became awkwardly placed to the outside of UNO JAMES when entering the bend. JINNO GINO (9/7) was squeezed and had to check rounding the bend. When questioned regarding the improved performance of winner FERAL COASTER (2) handler R Casey advised that the dog has had little luck in its most recent starts and it appreciated an empty box to its outside. |
| Race 4 | Garden City Chem-Dry Stakes - C1 - 520 | OAK SPUR (2) was a late scratching at the table after being found to have a laceration to its left fore pad. CAWBOURNE WAZZA (5) was bumped from its inside shortly after the jump. SPARE ACTION (3) lost ground when in restricted room rounding the final bend. GOLDSTAR SCOOTER (7) was slightly turned outwards prior to the run home. |
| Race 5 | Carol's T.A.B. Clendon Inn Sprint - C1 - 295 | PEYTON SAWYER (5) was bumped from the outside in the run to the bend. FEAR MARINA (2) and KNOW SALUTE (3) were both squeezed for racing room through the early stages. JIMMY NAIL (9/4) was bumped from the outside prior to the bend. FOXY BABE (8) lost ground when placed in restricted room entering the bend with this causing an inconvenience to PEYTON SAWYER. OPAWA BLINKY (1) eased free of interference when leading round the bend before bumping with MINOR BRAINWAVE (6) shortly after entering the home straight. A subsequent veterinary examination of OPAWA BLINKY revealed no injury. After viewing all available films, to which co-trainer R Wales elected not to view, Stewards were satisfied OPAWA BLINKY had breached Rule 79.1.b and that this dog had failed to pursue the lure by voluntarily easing at this stage of the race. Subsequently OPAWA BLINKY was stood down for the mandatory 28 days and is required to trial satisfactorily on one occasion prior to resuming. |
| Race 6 | Greyhounds As Pets Sprint - C1 - 295 | JINJA WILLY (3) was slow to jump. BIGTIME TIP (5) and BOTANY CALYPSO (6) jostled in the run to the bend. |
| Race 7 | Zebidiah At Stud Stakes - C1 - 520 | RN ZOLA (5) had to check inwards rounding the first bend. LAGOON BELLE (4) became awkwardly placed to the outside of SPRING SAM (1) rounding the first bend and fell to the track. This in turn caused SLICK ACTION (7) to also fall to the track and GOLDSTAR BOOMER (3) to be inconvenienced. Both LAGOON BELLE and SLICK ACTION were cleared of injury post race. |
| Race 8 | Little Brown Jug Dash - C1 - 295 | RICH ACTION (5) and PAGANI (6) came together shortly after the start. BIG JOHN CANON (1) was squeezed when entering the bend. |
| Race 9 | Barron's Supplies Stakes Final - C1f - 520 | OPAWA JEMAINE (9/3) was bumped inwards shortly after the start. GOLDSTAR COCO (1) had to check off heels of EPIC DREAM (5) racing round the first bend with both runners losing ground. |
| Race 10 | CGRC Awards Dinner Dash - C1 - 295 | LUCAS SCOTT (5), BELL RING (6) and ANOTHER VESPA (7) were all squeezed through the early stages. LUCAS SCOTT was then awkwardly placed to the inside of ANOTHER VESPA and TRICKY ACTION (8) entering the bend with these dogs losing ground |
| Race 11 | Clarkson Sign Studio Stakes - C2 - 520 | PLUTONIUM (2) was squeezed for racing room prior to the first bend. STEEL THE GOLD (4) was placed in restricted room and lost ground when entering the first bend. This obliged PLUTONIUM to shift outwards forcing JINJA BILLY (8) up the track. OPAWA BUCKS EYE (7) ran wide rounding the first bend and through the back straight. |
| Race 12 | Protexin Sprint - C2 - 295 | KATA (3) and ZORBA THE GREEK (4) were both marginally squeezed through the early stages. GOLDSTAR CHUMLEE (2) was placed in restricted room entering the bend. KATA lost ground when placed in restricted room rounding the bend. |
