Judicial report: 1) NESSIE ALLEN (C Roberts) and LAGOON MAY (Mitchell & Smith) completed Satisfactory Trials as required by Rule 79. 2) Handler D Fahey admitted a breach of Rule 79.1.o. after he placed OPAWA KEVIN in the incorrect box at the start of Race 11. This matter has been referred to the JCA for consideration.

Race 1	Super Pets Dash - C4 - 295	OM NOM NOM (4) was shifted down the track by WOOLY WHATSIT (5) in the early stages and lost ground. Into the bend RED MARGIN (6) ran inwards pushing WOOLY WHATSIT down on to MAY MAY LAST (3). WOOLY WHATSIT raced wide in the home straight.
Race 2	Islington Tavern Sprint - C3 - 295	EXPECT DELAY (3) shifted outwards in the early stages checking CAWBOURNE CRAIG (4) which dropped to the rear. HARSESIS (6) ran inwards into the bend checking SALLY (5) and then pushing OPAWA ROCKET (2) down on to FLIBERTY JIBERTY (1) which was turned sideways for a stride. OPAWA ROCKET lost ground in this incident with SALLY and FEAR MARINA (8) both checked and REPLAY (7) forced wider on the track.
Race 3	Hampden Tavern Place Pick Dash - C3 - 295	SOUTHERN BLUE (6) ran inwards checking GUMP'S THE NAME (5) in the early stages. WOW MADONNA (3) was then dragged down by SOUTHERN BLUE as this runner was shifted inwards. SOUTHERN BLUE checked off the heels of WALLY BAXTER (7) into the bend. WALLY BAXTER was then badly dragged down and fell into the bend with all runners except SMASH RUMOUR (1) and AIR EXPRESS (4) having their winning chances extinguished. On the home turn WOW MADONNA checked outwards abruptly off TIMELY REMINDER (2) and badly checked SOUTHERN BLUE. Stewards reviewed the video of the race and determined that all incidents were racing related and no dog was in breach of Rule 79. WOW MADONNA, GUMP'S THE NAME, SOUTHERN BLUE and WALLY BAXTER were all checked by the vet post race with WALLY BAXTER needing sutures to a foot after reopening an old wound.
Race 4	Coalgate Tavern Stakes - C2 - 520	HIP HOP SOFIA (5) ran inwards in the early stages placing GOLDSTAR DALLAS (4) and IZZEY BALE (3) in restricted room as OPAWA BORN (1) ran outwards contacting IZZEY BALE. GOLDSTAR DALLAS checked outwards off heels into the first bend with IZZEY BALE being shifted wider in consequence. OPAWA BORN weakened over the concluding stages to finish a clear last and was cleared by the vet post race.
Race 5	Cheviot Trust Hotel Sprint - C4 - 295	MUST DESIRE (7) dropped to the rear in the initial stages after CHOKEHOLD (9/8) had crossed quickly from its outside. NEW THANG (6) then ran inwards causing severe checks to BURN EARLY (5), BOUND TO ERUPT (4) and BREAKING MAD (3) with this trio dropping to the rear. BURN EARLY was again checked into the bend losing ground. BREAKING MAD ran wide on the home turn. BREAKING MAD was referred to the vet for assessment and found to be free of injury.
Race 6	Waihemo Lodge Hotel Sprint - C5 - 295	SPEEDY RETURN (8) and HOMEBUSH ROCKY (6) were the last pair on jumping. SMASH THAT (1) ran outwards in the back straight inconveniencing ANOTHER MESSAGE (9/4) for a stride. As ANOTHER MESSAGE lost ground SPEEDY RETURN ran inwards from wider out with ARBRE CHENE (3). HOMEBUSH ROCKY and NO LEAF CLOVER (7) all being hampered in consequence. SMASH THAT checked outwards off heels on the home turn and continued to run wide through the home straight.
Race 7	Little Brown Jug Distance - C2d - 645	ZIPPING SONNY (8) was last to jump. KNOW WORTH (6) was checked on the first bend and lost ground. KNOW WORTH then raced wide with a lap to run. At the entrance to the back straight MYSTIC ACTION (2) was dragged down by TRUST ISSUES (4) with both runners losing momentum.
Race 8	Glenbyre Tavern Dash - C5 - 295	RAPAKI KATH (3) ran outwards in the early stages checking ROADWORKS (4) and MICKEY TEE (5). RAPAKI KATH and MICKEY TEE both ran wide in the home straight. ROADWORKS fell at the lure and was checked and cleared by the vet post race.
Race 9	2016 David Emerson Consultancy Harding Cup - C5f - 295	DYNA QUIRK (4) and BELIEVE (5) were the last pair on settling. WHEELCHAIR NORM (6), TINA (2) and GET READY FREDDY (3) were all slightly inconvenienced as SWIMMING GOAT (8) crossed to the rail in the back straight. TINA lost ground on the bend after coming together with WHEELCHAIR NORM. LITTLE REGUS (7) checked off the heels of DYNA QUIRK on the home turn losing ground. BELIEVE ran wide around the home turn.
Race 10	2016 Active Electrical Christchurch N Z St Leger - R/Af - 520	KNOW DECISION (3) and EBERT BALE (2) were both tightened into the bend and dropped to the rear. KNOW DECISION then ran outwards on that bend causing inconvenience to EBERT BALE. CAWBOURNE COOKS (6) was placed in restricted room by KAVA BLU (7) entering the back straight with CAWBOURNE COOKS losing momentum. GOLDSTAR PO (8) received a slight check at the end of the back straight after CAWBOURNE COOKS got on its heels. KNOW DECISION was forced wide around these runners.
Race 11	2016 Publican's Cup - C4 - 520	The start was delayed slightly after Handler D Fahey placed OPAWA KEVIN (5) in the incorrect box. BENJAMIN BLACK (4) and OPAWA KEVIN bumped soon after the start. ARCTIC ACTION (7) ran inwards in the early stages checking FEKITOA (6). DAD'S AMBITION (3) ran outwards on the first bend checking ARCTIC ACTION and pushing OPAWA KEVIN over extra ground. DAD'S AMBITION checked outwards off the heels of RAEWYN (8) on the home turn with OPAWA KEVIN again forced wide. FEKITOA ran outwards and collided with BENJAMIN BLACK late in the run home. RAEWYN fell at the lure and was checked and cleared by the vet.
Race 12	Angler's Arms Tavern Sprint - C4 - 295	NORMAN JEWEL (5) and GRIFINATOR (6) came together in the early stages. NORMAN JEWEL was then tightened into the bend and ran outwards colliding with WUNZEE (7). GREET THE JUDGE (2) angled outwards on the bend hampering GRIFINATOR for a few strides. ADROIT (3) raced wide around the home turn. BACKCHAT HARRY (8) took a tumble at the lure but no abnormality was detected when checked by the vet.
