| Race 1 | Palamountains Nutrition Sprint - C2 - 375 | CRYING IN VEGAS (5) and SPOTTED FLYER (8) were last to leave the boxes. WINSOME DAN (1) began awkwardly losing ground. SPEARMINT JUJU (4) shifted out soon after the start inconveniencing ARMISTICE DAY (6) who made contact with SIMPLY YETI (7). ARMISTICE DAY then shifted in coming together with CRYING IN VEGAS. ALAMEIN BLONDE (3) and CRYING IN VEGAS came together entering the first turn with these runners becoming unbalanced losing momentum inconveniencing WINSOME DAN and ARMISTICE DAY. ALAMEIN BLONDE shifted out off heels rounding the bend inconveniencing CRYING IN VEGAS who was taken wider on the track. |
| Race 2 | Fond Foods Ltd Sprint - C3 - 375 | SKYLER WHITE (9) shifted in making contact with TWO UP (5) for several strides leaving the boxes. TWO UP and OPAWA SPICE (7) came together racing toward the first turn. THRILLING LOGAN (1) was tightened and checked losing ground entering the first turn inconveniencing SKYLER WHITE. Rounding the bend RED RASCAL was tightened and checked going back briefly inconveniencing THRILLING LOGAN and SKYLER WHITE. RED RASCAL was checked losing ground rounding the final turn when placed in restricted room between THRILLING LOGAN and SKYER WHITE with RED RASCAL then shifting out across the heels of SKYLER WHITE. Entering the final straight THRILLING LOGAN shifted out off the heels of JINJA FANTASY (3) making contact with OPAWA SPICE (7) with these runners losing ground. |
| Race 3 | Image Apparel Sprint - C4 - 375 | CAWBOURNE BUTTSY (7) was slow away. FRESCO STAR (1) was tightened having to steady off the heels of ATOONGA AIR (2) entering the first turn. |
| Race 4 | Tammy & Lorraine from Dapto Dogs Stakes - C1 - 457 | MILLY RIVERS (5) was very slow away losing considerable ground. ROMAN ACTION (7) shifted in soon after the start making solid contact with GOLFING BUDDY (9) with these runners both becoming unbalanced. ROMAN ACTION and GOLFING BUDDY then came together again racing down the back straight with GOLFING BUDDY losing ground. Entering the first turn ROMAN ACTION became awkwardly placed near the running rail shifting out making contact with the hindquarters of DIVA POSE (8) with these runners both unbalanced and ROMAN ACTION losing considerable ground as a result. ROMAN ACTION underwent a post race veterinary examination which revealed no abnormality. |
| Race 5 | Affordable Pet Accessories Stakes - C4 - 457 | BOSTON LIGHTNING (5) and CAWBOURNE KRISTY (7) were last to leave the boxes. BOSTON LIGHTNING was then further inconvenienced soon after the start when TAKAMORI (6) shifted in with BOSTON LIGHTNING then shifting out making brief contact with the hindquarters of CAWBOURNE KRISTY. OUR SAMBO (2) was tightened and checked losing ground entering the first turn when TAKAMORI shifted in. Inconvenienced as a result were MELHAM (8), when OUR SAMBO got on this runners heels for a stride, and BOSTON LIGHTNING who had to steady. BOSTON LIGHTNING shifted out rounding the bend momentarily inconveniencing MELHAM. BOSTON LIGHTNING was held up rounding the final bend. ZIPPING STEVE (4) made contact with the hindquarters of CAWBOURNE KRISTY for some distance rounding the final bend with ZIPPING STEVE losing considerable ground entering the final straight inconveniencing BOSTON LIGHTNING. |
| Race 6 | T McDonald Cup Final - C2df - 747 | No head on footage was available for this race. JAZZBOY JACK (2), BLACK DUDE (5) and VERNON BALE (8) were last to leave the boxes. WHO DAT BOY (4), SHANDELL (3) and JAZZBOY JACK were inconvenienced soon after leaving the boxes when TEEMARIA (6) angled in with JAZZBOY JACK and WHO DAT BOY losing ground. SHANDELL and OPAWA TANIA (9) came together for a distance entering the first turn with these runners both becoming badly unbalanced losing considerable ground. Also checked as a result was WHO DAT BOY who had to steady and shift out off the heels of these runners losing ground. When in the lead entering the first turn YOU'RE SO FREE (7) shifted out free of interference losing considerable ground. YOU'RE SO FREE then continued to lose ground entering the back straight. A Post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. After reviewing footage, with no availability of any head on coverage, and speaking with the connections of YOU'RE SO FREE no further action was taken on this occasion. Entering the back straight, when racing at the rear of the field, OPAWA TANIA was tightened and checked losing ground when placed in restricted room to the inside of SHANDELL. OPAWA TANIA was referred to the veterinarian following this event with no abnormality detected. |
| Race 7 | Jack Hannon Memorial - INV - 457 | DYNA VIKKERS (4) was last to leave the boxes. RAMPION (3) shifted in soon after the start making contact with SPEED LORDE (2). FANTASTIC SID (7) shifted in racing down the back straight inconveniencing DYNA VIKKERS who had to shift in across heels. FANTASTIC SID then continued to shift in making contact with RAMPION with these runners jostling for a distance racing into the first turn with ROBBIE (8) then shifting in making contact with these runners with RAMPION, FANTASTIC SID and ROBBIE all losing ground. Racing toward the first turn DYNA VIKKERS made solid contact with the hindquarters of BOSTON HEART (1) with these runners both unbalanced with DYNA VIKKERS losing ground. |
| Race 8 | Hautapu Veterinary Clinic Services Sprint - C4/5 - 375 | ROCKY BOY (2) and VEGAS DANNY (8) were slow away. STYLISH FANCY (5) made brief contact with the CHRIS'S PRIDE (4) soon after the start. Racing toward the first turn CHRIS'S PRIDE became tightened between MACJAM (6) and THRILLING GALAXY (3) with CHRIS'S PRIDE making contact with the hindquarters of THRILLING GALAXY for several strides becoming unbalanced then shifting in across this runners heels. THRILLING GALAXY and MACJAM then came together and jostled for a distance with these runners both becoming unbalanced entering the first turn with THRILLING GALAXY losing ground inconveniencing STYLISH FANCY (5). Rounding the bend ROCKY BOY had to steady for a stride off the heels of CHRIS'S PRIDE. |
| Race 9 | Lois Henley Memorial - INV - 457 | TRIPLE PARKED (2) was last to leave the boxes then further inconvenienced when CAWBOURNE CLOVER (3) shifted in. WINSOME JENNY (7) and OPAWA SHACKLEY (8) came together leaving the boxes. OPTIC SHIMMER (4) shifted out racing down the back straight inconveniencing MOORE PARK MISS (5) and YAP'S ME MUM (6). MOORE PARK MISS and WINSOME JENNY came together on several occasions racing down the back straight with MOORE PARK MISS then making contact with the hindquarters of CAWBOURNE CLOVER (3) with both runners becoming unbalanced and MOORE PARK MISS losing ground. YAP'S ME MUM and WINSOME JENNY then came together for several strides entering the first turn losing ground. YAP'S ME MUM became awkwardly placed on heels for several strides rounding the bend. Entering the final bend CAWBOURNE CLOVER shifted out into the line of WINSOME JENNY who got on this runners heels with both runners unbalanced, CAWBOURNE CLOVER almost falling. A post race veterinary examination of CAWBOURNE CLOVER revealed no abnormality. |
| Race 10 | Mike Stent Decorators Ltd NZ Derby Final - R/Af - 457 | OPAWA KEVIN (4) and OPAWA NORRIS (3) came together leaving the boxes with these runners shifting in inconveniencing TOP PROSECUTOR (2) who lost ground. Soon after the start NANGAR STAR (7) shifted in inconveniencing SOUTHERN LIGHTS (6), who lost ground, before continuing to shift in coming together with FEKITOA (5) with these runners jostling for a distance. NANGAR STAR then continued to shift in taking FEKITOA in onto OPAWA NORRIS (3), OPAWA KEVIN (4) and KAVA BLU (1) with these runners all hampered losing ground. OPAWA NORRIS, OPAWA KEVIN and KAVA BLU then continued to make contact for several strides racing toward the first turn with FEKITOA then shifting in coming together with these runners with FEKITOA, KAVA BLU and OPAWA NORRIS losing ground. As a result KAVA BLU and OPAWA NORRIS went back onto TOP PROSECUTOR with these runners all unbalanced losing ground. KAVA BLU and TOP PROSECUTOR made contact on numerous occasions rounding the final bend and in the final straight with these runners losing considerable ground. The veterinarian cleared KAVA BLU of any injury following this event. TOP PROSECUTOR was referred to the veterinarian with a laceration to the right forearm detected and a 10 day stand down imposed. |
| Race 11 | The Clubhouse Sports Bar Stakes - C2 - 457 | CHARLIE BO BO (6) and ZIPPING SASHA (7) came together leaving the boxes. CAWBOURNE SPREE (3) and SONIC ATTACK (4) came together on several occasions racing down the back straight. SONIC ATTACK then shifted out across the heels of VARGA FROST (5). VARGA FROST then became uncomfortable in its action losing considerable ground and its chance. SONIC ATTACK then continued to shift out making contact with ZIPING SASHA who was taken out into the line of CHARLIE BO BO who got on the heels of this runner becoming badly unbalanced losing ground. ZIPPING SASHA and SONIC ATTACK then shifted in entering the first turn making solid contact with CAWBOURNE SPREE who was badly unbalanced with CAWBOURNE SPREE and SONIC ATTACK losing ground. Inconvenienced as a result was CHARLIE BO BO. CAWBOURNE SPREE and SONIC ATTACK came together rounding the final bend and again entering the final straight. A post race veterinary examination of VARGA FROST revealed an injury to the right gluteal muscle and a 40 day stand down imposed. |
| Race 12 | Garrards Horse & Hound Stakes - C3 - 457 | JINJA LUCA (2) and GRADER JACK (7) were last to leave the boxes. LAGOON BELLE (3) shifted in soon after the start coming together with JINJA LUCA with these runners continuing to make contact for some distance losing ground. GOLDEN IVY (1) was tightened entering the first turn making contact with the running rail becoming badly unbalanced shifting out onto SWIFTLY CHLOE (5) and ACAMAS (6) with these three runners all hampered losing ground with SWIFTLY CHLOE going back onto GRADER JACK (7) who got on this runners hindquarters with both runners badly unbalanced losing ground. SWIFTLY CHLOE and GOLDEN IVY were referred to the veterinarian with no abnormalities detected. |
