Track: Good A track inspection by the Christchurch GRC Track Committee, the Veterinarian and Stewards took place after an injury was sustained by DIZZY STATE in Race 6. This inspection failed to reveal any obvious problems with the track and the meeting proceeded as planned.

Judicial report: OPAWA JANET (Lane & Wales) completed a satisfactory box trial as required by Rule 72.13.

Race 1	I Pave Concrete Dash - C3 - 295	COSTING MONEY (1), WINE TIME (2) and BOTANY RICHIE (6) were the last trio on jumping. WINE TIME ran inwards in the back straight checking COSTING MONEY. HOMEBUSH RILEY (5) was placed in restricted room and lost ground as HARKONEN BALE (7) angled inwards into the bend with STRUGGLE IS REAL (4) also being checked at this stage. WINE TIME checked outwards on the bend losing ground. STRUGGLE IS REAL ran outwards on the home turn checking HARKONEN BALE which lost momentum. COSTING MONEY fell and got under the rail at the lure and was referred to the vet for assessment and cleared of injury.
Race 2	David Emerson Consultancy Sprint - C2 - 295	HARDEN FASTER (2) and THAT'S A WRAP (8) were the last pair from the traps. CABARITA (7) ran inwards in the early stages checking THESEUS (5) and RAPAKI KATH (4). THESEUS then ran outwards checking GREET THE JUDGE (6) with THAT'S A WRAP also becoming unbalanced on their outside. HARDEN FASTER ran inwards into the bend checking OPAWA PAUL (1). THESEUS continued to run outwards on the turn with GREET THE JUDGE and THAT'S A WRAP forced over extra ground.
Race 3	Thursday Place Pick Sprint - C3 - 295	OHOKA BILLY (7) was tightened and lost a length in the early stages. TOKEN ACE (8) and MARK BE GOOD (4) came together in the back straight causing to tightening to THUNDER STORM (6) which lost ground. TOKEN ACE continued its inwards movement into the bend causing checks to ONLY GOT TIME (3) and CANDYBOY (2) with THUNDER STORM forced wider on the track as a result. CANDYBOY and ONLY GOT TIME both raced wide over the concluding stages.
Race 4	Carol's T.A.B. Dash - C3 - 295	GORILLA ON DRUMS (5) was badly tightened in the early stages and dropped to the rear. SCREW AND BOLT (6) was trapped wide throughout.
Race 5	christchurchgreyhounds.co.nz Stakes - C3 - 520	LAGOON BELLE (3) ran outwards in the early stages checking HOMEBUSH HOWARD (5). This runner was again checked into the first bend after KNOW MAYHEM (8) ran inwards. On the first bend LAGOON BELLE lost ground after JESSIE SURFS (4) had improved to its inside and made contact. OPAWA ROCKY (1) lost some momentum on the home bend when turned slightly by JESSIE SURFS which had improved to its inside.
Race 6	Fast Archer At Stud Sprint - C5 - 295	DIZZY STATE (8) ran inwards in the early stages checking HOMEBUSH KELSO (7) and then was turned sideways for a stride as it contacted TEE TIME (6) and SHADOW APACHE (5) before progressing to the lead in the back straight. DIZZY STATE then appeared to falter and was badly dragged down at the entrance to the home straight before dropping out to finish well back. DIZZY STATE was referred to the vet for assessment and found to have a fractured hock.
Race 7	Mac Developements Dash - C5 - 295	Following the injury in the previous race, the Christchurch GRC track committee and Stewards inspected the track and it was decided to continue racing with this race being delayed by 10 minutes. CHOKEHOLD (7) ran inwards colliding with DINERO ACTION (6) in the early stages with HOMEBUSH ARIEL (5) also receiving a check in this incident. HOMEBUSH CHOPPER (1) lost ground into the bend with the trailing DINERO ACTION receiving a severe check and losing its chance. AIDEN BAXTER (10/2) angled outwards on the turn pushing HOMEBUSH ARIEL over extra ground.
Race 8	Christchurch Casino Stakes - C4 - 520	GOLDSTAR AVERY (4), ZIPPING SONNY (5) and KNOW SCHOLAR (6) were all slow to jump. KNOW DECISION (7) ran wide into the first bend. OPAWA VAL (1) checked outwards off the heels of BOTANY KEVIN (3) into the first bend. GOLDSTAR AVERY raced wide in the back straight. BOTANY KEVIN commenced to weaken on the home turn causing OPAWA VAL to switch outwards and push GOLDSTAR AVERY wider on the track.
Race 9	2016 Super Pets Canterbury Futurity - R/Af - 520	OPAWA KEVIN (6), JINJA ROMAN (7) and FEKITOA (8) were the last trio from the traps. FEKITOA got on the heels of KNOW ANDWER (2) into the first bend and lost momentum. JINJA ROMAN raced wide around the home turn.
Race 10	Robbie's Bar & Bistro Distance - C2d - 645	KNOW WORTH (1) and UNOVA BALE (5) were the last pair on jumping. TRUST ISSUES (3) and CAWBOURNE WAR (6) came together in the run to the first bend causing CAWBOURNE MIAMI (4) to be tightened and lose ground. KNOW WORTH was also inconvenienced in this incident. KNOW WORTH then raced wide around the first bend. CAWBOURNE MIAMI raced wide in the home straight.
Race 11	C.T.V. Sprint - C5 - 295	KERAMUS (4) was last to jump. SHOWROOM (3) angled outwards into the bend pushing CULVIE GODFATHER (8) wider with an improving KERAMUS checking off its heels and losing momentum. HOMEBUSH RUFUS (1) ran outwards on the home turn colliding with KERAMUS which was badly unbalanced and lost ground. CULVIE GODFATHER was also hampered in this incident.
Race 12	Livamol Sprint - C4 - 295	TINA (1) ran outwards in the early stages making solid contact with CAWBOURNE DOZER (5) which ran outwards coming together with HOMEBUSH PAIGE (10/6). Into the bend HOMEBUSH PAIGE ran inwards with WUNZEE (7), KNOW MAGIC (4) and KNOW SALUTE (3) all receiving tightening and losing ground. CAWBOURNE DOZER faltered around the bend and dropped out with this dog being referred to the vet for assessment where it was found to have a torn gracilis.
