Judicial report: (1) SUPPLEMENTARY FROM CHRISTCHURCH GRC 23 JULY 2015 : At a JCA hearing following today's meeting, Co-Trainer B Evans and kennel steward R Herbert were both fined $100.00 after previously having admitted a breach of rule 87.1(o) in that they failed to ensure that the correct number cloth was placed on GOLDSTAR CHUMLEE prior to the running of race 6. (2) PACIFIC VIBE (A Hart and K Taylor) was stood down for 28 days under Rule 79.1.b. after failing to pursue the lure in Race 5.

Race 1 | Shirley Vet Clinic Sprint - C0 - 295 | MAX BRAINSTRAIN (1) was a clear last on jumping. JINJA SNAG (6) and CRONOS (7) came together in the early stages with these dogs having their back legs entangled for some strides. JINJA SNAG then faltered and tailed off. This bitch was referred to the vet for assessment and cleared of injury. HYDE BAXTER (3) was checked in the early stages as FOXY BABE (4) ran inwards. HYDE BAXTER checked outwards off heels into the bend and pushed MAX BRAINSTRAIN and TATUM BAXTER (8) wider on the track. LUCAS SCOTT (5) ran wide on the turn pushing CRONOS wider. CRONOS then ran down to the rail and badly hampered HYDE BAXTER which then ran outwards again pushing MAX BRAINSTRAIN wider. CRONOS and TATUM BAXTER then came together at the back of the field on the home turn. CRONOS was also referred to the vet for assessment with no injury detected. |
Race 2 | Business Time At Stud Stakes - C0 - 520 | FANCY ACTION (3) was tightened in the early stages and lost ground. Into the first bend JIGITTY JEWEL (4) was badly tightened in between UNO MARGUERITE (1) and NINA BAXTER (5) with JIGITTY JEWEL falling. ROYAL ACTION (7) was forced to hurdle the fallen runner and in doing so pushed SPINE CHILLING (8) wider on the track. UNO MARGUERITE and ROYAL ACTION both ran wide in the back straight. JIGITTY JEWEL was referred to the vet for assessment. |
Race 3 | Amber Cleaning Services Dash - C0 - 295 | ROBBIE MCBELL (1) and ANOTHER RUSS (7) were both slow to jump. In the back straight CRYSTAL FLAME (2) ran outwards colliding with KENTARO BAXTER (3). JINNO GINO (8) and FIRST OFFICER (4) both ran wide around the home turn. |
Race 4 | Garrard's Horse And Hound Stakes - C0 - 520 | PRIVATE ACTION (3) came up with the lids losing ground. SOME EXCITMENT (4) was very slow to jump. OPAWA BUCKS EYE (6) lost ground into the first bend after running inwards and making contact with ESTER ACTION (2). OPAWA BUCKS EYE then ducked outwards checking WALLY BAXTER (8) for a stride. YELLA LOT (5) was inconvenienced in behind these runners. LIN BAXTER (1) and ESTER ACTION both angled wide on the first bend and further out SOME EXCITMENT also covered extra ground around that bend. ESTER ACTION got on heels at the entrance to the back straight. |
Race 5 | Super Pets Maiden Sprint Final - C0f - 295 | MAGIC DOZER (2) was last on settling. PACIFIC VIBE (1) turned its head outwards for two strides in the initial stages when free of interference. PACIFIC VIBE was checked and cleared by the vet. After considering submissions from co-trainer K Taylor this dog was charged under Rule 79.1.b. for failing to pursue the lure and was also ordered to undertake a Satisfactory Trial prior to its next raceday start. In the back straight WHIP UPPA STORM (8) got on the heels of GONE ROGUE (6) with both runners losing ground. Into the bend PACIFIC VIBE ran outwards checking MORNING GYPSY (5) and GRUBBY STUBBIES (7) with HARDEN FASTER (4) and MAGIC DOZER both being forced wide. MAGIC DOZER ran inwards in the home straight checking GRUBBY STUBBIES. |
Race 6 | Angler's Arms Tavern Sprint - C2 - 295 | ANOTHER GROOM (6) ran inwards in the back straight causing pressure to KNOW SALUTE (5) and PEYTON SAWYER (4). ANOTHER GROOM then lost ground into the bend with SHADOW BAXTER (2) also receiving tightening and losing its place. KNOW SALUTE checked off the heels of BLAZING HOT (1) on the bend and lost ground. ANOTHER GROOM was assessed by the vet post race and cleared of any abnormality. |
Race 7 | Clarkson Sign Studio Stakes - C2 - 520 | OPAWA PAUL (2) was a late scratching at 9.35am when found to be vomiting. LENA ALLEN (3) and KNOW LAUGHING (4) were both tightened in the early stages as AMBILIGHT (1) angled outwards and RUN ZOLA (5) ran inwards. Into the first bend ELWOOD SENSATION (7) angled inwards causing tightening to HOMEBUSH BUCK (6) and KNOW LAUGHING. In the back straight KNOW LAUGHING was inclined to shift up the track. |
Race 8 | Mac Developments Dash - C2 - 295 | FIREMANS GALAXY (6) was last to jump. ILABB (4) ran inwards dictating the line of KINGMAN (3) and STAND UP GIRL (2) over the early stages. STAND UP GIRL was tightened into the bend and ran outwards pushing KINGMAN over extra ground. STAND UP GIRL checked outwards off heels on the home turn. |
Race 9 | Robbie's Bar & Bistro Stakes - C2 - 520 | OPAWA AMY (2) was a clear last on jumping. KNOW SMIGGLE (9) ran outwards on the first bend contacting the hind quarters of KNOW ANSWER (5) with that runner being turned sideways for a stride. OPAWA AMY ran wide around that bend. OPAWA BORN (4) was referred to the vet for assessment after falling at the lure and cleared of injury. |
Race 10 | Dave Robbie Photographer Sprint - C2 - 295 | Prior to this race minor repairs were made to the lure after the incident in the prior event. The lure was tested and found to be working properly. TERRA MONDO (3) and VINCENT GALLO (2) were both tightened into the bend with CAWBOURNE ROWAN (5) receiving a severe check when racing to their outside. The muzzle on TERRA MONDO came loose in this incident. On the home turn HERSHY PIE (1) ran outwards pushing CAWBOURNE ROWAN and KNOW FAVOURS (7) wider. HERSHY PIE and CAWBOURNE ROWAN came together on the home turn when well back. Stewards requested a post race assessment of CAWBOURNE ROWAN with this revealing no abnormality. |
Race 11 | Protexin Dash - C2 - 295 | HANNA THE SPANNA (7) was a touch slow to jump. NOT SO CUTE (5) ran sharply inwards in the early stages causing tightening to KYLA ROSE (4), KNOW CHEERS (3) and JACK'S A JEWEL (2). JACK'S A JEWEL then ran outwards on the home turn pushing KNOW CHEERS wider on the track. |
Race 12 | Farewell 2014/2015 Season Sprint - C2 - 295 | ROADWORKS (3) was tightened in the early stages. HOMEBUSH SPIKE (1) and ANOTHER JEWEL (2) came together in the back straight with HOMEBUSH SPIKE then being tightened and losing ground. ROADWORKS was checked and dragged down into the bend with this runner being referred to the vet for assessment and cleared of injury. FLYING SWAN (9) ran wide on the home turn pushing GOLDSTAR CHYNA (8) over extra ground. |
