Track: Good The track was dressed with a new load of sand earlier in the week and was presented in good order and the meeting proceeded smoothly.
Scales: Checked and correct
Health and Safety comment: Nil

Judicial report: Following recent rulings by the Club in relation to the Dress Code, the Stewards expressed concerns to Management that the changes made are not acceptable in their opinion and are not conforming to the standards set by NZGRA. The Stewards will be respectfully requesting that there be further discussion to establish a standard which is acceptable to all parties.

Race 1	ABSOLUTELY ELECTRICAL R/A Feature - R/A - 520	HOMEBUSH SPOOK and OPAWA MESSINI bumped together in the home straight and OPAWA MESSINI became briefly unbalanced and lost momentum.
Race 2	WANGANUI CHRONICLE C3 - C3 - 305	BOSTON STRIKE shifted out from the start and AZURE DREAMS shifted in and this resulted in checks to MEGA JET and BIG FAT GYPSY which both lost ground and settled back. A short distance further on, BOSTON STRIKE shifted out and checked MIGHTY MAGIC and AZURE DREAMS which both lost ground and stayed back for the remainder of the race.
Race 3	LIQUORLAND WANGANUI C3 - C3 - 305	POPSTAR ROCKET and ODE TO LIBERTY bumped when the start was made and POPSTAR ROCKET lost ground and settled back but finished well for 3rd place. ALL IN ALL and NO TIME YET also bumped together at the start and ALL IN ALL lost ground and settled near the rear and stayed back throughout to finish in 2nd last place. ODE TO LIBERTY checked over the heels of UP HIGH going into the bend, lost three lengths and stayed back to finish last.
Race 4	AON CPF C3 - C3 - 520	Runners drawn either side of SHADOW BAXTER shifted ground when the start was made and this resulted in SHADOW BAXTER being tightened and checked and he settled at the rear and stayed back throughout to finish in 2nd last place.
Race 5	WANGANUI SECURITY C5 - C5 - 305	YOUR SAY and NGAURUHOE jostled together for some distance going to the first corner and they lost ground and went back to the rear where they stayed for the remainder of the race.
Race 6	PALAMOUNTAINS SCIENTIFIC NUTRITION R/A - R/A - 305	CAWBOURNE MIDGET began awkwardly and shifted out hampering ALL IN BERLIN and SENORITA TINA with ALL IN BERLIN the most affected. SEMANTICS then shifted out and SENORITA TINA shifted in and this resulted in a check to CAWBOURNE MIDGET which was racing between those two runners. SWEET AS BRO shifted out from the rail going into the bend and checked BIG BOY DENO which went back to the rear. ALL IN BERLIN was bumped going into the bend and was forced wide over extra ground.
Race 7	THE DOGZONE C0 D - C0d - 645	DARK GARNAH and TORERO were slow to begin and settled back. DARK GARNAH began to drift in the back straight and finished a distance last and was referred to the Vet for assessment where an injury to a calf muscle was detected.
Race 8	HARRISON HIRE MASTER C4 - C4 - 520	JESSIE SURFS was slow to begin losing two lengths and he then bumped with KWASANT going into the first bend and they were both briefly unbalanced losing momentum. JESSIE SURFS recovered well from the incident and ran on well to finish in 3rd place. CAWBOURNE STEVE shifted in going into the back straight and checked ALWAYS WELCOME which lost five lengths. CAWBOURNE MATTY shifted in entering the home straight and bumped with OPAWA SHAIDEN when they were both well back in the field.
Race 9	KEENAN CONCRETE WANGANUI C4/5 - C4/5 - 520	TEE KAY YAPPER was slow to begin and settled back. He then raced wide on the first bend with CHECK THE MAIL and they covered extra ground.
Race 10	The Rock 95.2FM Wanganui Distance Gp 1 Final - C2df - 755	MAGIC EMILY shifted in abruptly from the start and caused tightening and checks to WHO DAT BOY, BOSTON HEART, KNOW SECURITY, TEEMARIA and BIG RED CHEV which were all affected to varying degrees. MAGIC EMILY shifted out in the home straight on the first occasion and forced BIG RED CHEV wide on the track and he bumped with WHO DAT BOY on the outside. Soon after, TEEMARIA checked off the back of MAGIC EMILY and shifted out bumping with BIG RED CHEV which again made contact with WHO DAT BOY on the outside and BIG RED CHEV was again unbalanced. He then drifted over the final stages and finished in 2nd last place. BIG RED CHEV was referred to the Vet for assessment as a precaution and was cleared of injury. SHANDELL and EXTREME TWIST raced close together in the lead down the back straight and brushed together on several occasions.
Race 11	WWW.RACINGTIPS.CO.NZ C4 - C4 - 305	EL JETTA, PLENTY OF TIME and EMPTY BANK were slow to begin losing three lengths. EL JETTA recovered the best of the three and made up ground to finish in 3rd place. ALLEGRO TOUCH and ANOTHER JEWEL bumped going into the bend, became unbalanced and lost ground.
Race 12	BOOK YOUR FUNCTION @ HATRICK C4 - C4 - 305	BIGTIME DASHER and CAWBOURNE TOMCAT jostled together for some distance in the race to the first turn and as a result they both lost ground and stayed back throughout the race to finish in the rear group.
