Track: Good The track was classified as dead to start racing after persistent drizzle throughout the day but improved through the night.
Scales: Correct at all weights
Health and Safety comment: Nil.

Judicial report: TIFINO (L Ahern), a qualifier for the NZ St Leger Final, was withdrawn prior to the box draw with a Veterinary Certificate provided.

Race 1 Super Pets Sprint - C4 - 295 The inside trio of SWIP AND TEAR (1), MCJOPSON (2) and OHOKA COBY (3) were slowest into stride. SPRINKLES (8) was checked into the bend when racing to the heels of BUTTERBEAN (6) with both runners losing ground. On the home turn MARY MARLOW (7) ran inwards contacting SWIP AND TEAR for a stride with both runners losing momentum.
Race 2 Carol's T.A.B. Sprint - C4 - 295 KNOW LIES (7) was last to jump with WAIMAK DAVE (8) also settling well back.
Race 3 Thursday Place Pick Dash - C5 - 295 HUSTLER AMBITION (1) and OPULENT (2) were the last pair on jumping. STARBURST JOSH (5) was hampered into the bend as ANGELIC STAR (7) crossed from his outside with STARBURST JOSH losing a length. The winner RUSTY KNIFE (6) took a fall at the lure but was found to be free of injury when assessed by the vet.
Race 4 Kolorful Kanvas Stakes - C3 - 520 EVEN SEVEN (7) and OHOKA FRENCHI (8) were the last pair on settling. Into the first bend FLYING SWAN (2) checked outwards badly inconveniencing PINDARI (6) and OHOKA FRENCHI who had their chances extinguished at this point. On the home turn EVEN SEVEN was checked as OPAWA STYLE (3) improved to his inside. EVEN SEVEN dropped out after this check with a post race veterinary check revealing that the dog was suffering from cramp with no stand down being considered necessary.
Race 5 Coalgate Tavern Dash - C5 - 295 PLAGIARISM (4) was last to jump with kennelmates PEARL'S BOY (7) and KNOW FAULT (8) also settling well back.
Race 6 I Pave Concrete Stakes - R/A - 520 WHAT I LIKE (5) was last to jump. WHAT I LIKE was then forced wide around the first bend when improving. PUNCH ON JAIME (6) was tightened at the end of the back straight and lost ground with AMBILIGHT (7) being inconvenienced in behind.
Race 7 David Emerson Consultancy Harding Cup - C5f - 295 ZEBIDIAH (8) was last to jump. CAWBOURNE QUEEN (4) shifted outwards in the back straight pushing CAWBOURNE JELLY (5) out on to ANGEL NOIR (7) for a stride. MER DE NOMS (1) shifted outwards into the bend pushing SOZIN'S COMET (3), CAWBOURNE QUEEN and CAWBOURNE JELLY wider on the track with this trio losing ground and their chances.
Race 8 racingdogs.co.nz Stakes - C3/4 - 520 OPAWA JED (3) and CABOUL (8) were the last pair on jumping. CABOUL was forced wide around the first bend. BILLY WEST (7) commenced to weaken on the home turn placing DEANNE'S FANTASY (1) in restricted room.
Race 9 Shirley Vet Clinic Stakes - C5 - 520 This race was delayed by two minutes at the request of Raceday Control. KNOW ATTEMPT (5) was last to jump. JINJARANGO (3) was tightened into the bend and lost ground with CULVIE MAGIC (1) and KNOW ATTEMPT being forced wide around that bend. KNOW ATTEMPT continued to race wide for the remainder of the race.
Race 10 Active Electrical Christchurch New Zealand St Leger - R/Af - 520 DREAM COLLECTOR (8) was the last on settling. CAWBOURNE WAR (3) angled inwards in the early stages hampering IDOL GIRL (2) and BOTANY KEVIN (1) for a few strides. LITTLE REGUS (6) checked outwards off SPEEDY KAZZA (4) into the bend and lost a length. BOTANY KEVIN checked outwards off SPEEDY KAZZA into the back straight with IDOL GIRL and CAWBOURNE WAR being forced to race wider. On the home turn SPEEDY KAZZA checked outwards off the hindquarters of BOTANY KEVIN pushing CAWBOURNE WAR wider.
Race 11 Christchurch Casino Dash - C5 - 295 KERAMUS (8) was last to jump. CRACKING CHAIN (7) ran inwards contacting GO HOUSIE (6) in the initial stages and lost a length. Closer in DRYSDALE (4) angled inwards contacting ROQETTE (3) and SMASH RUMOUR (2) as QUEDRAGO (1) was angling outwards. CRACKING CHAIN was checked into the bend and lost ground. Trainer G Cleeve was questioned in regards to the improved performance of the winner GO HOUSIE. He stated that GO HOUSIE had suffered a groin injury and been spelled for 10 weeks. At his first start back the dog received a chequered run but was improved for tonight's engagement. Tonight he had been able to jump well and was clear of trouble.
Race 12 Speight's Sprint - C4 - 295 ELKI (2) weighed in 1.9 kgs under her last race weight with the new connections advising that this was a planned decrease. This race was delayed after the lure became jammed. FANTASTIC FOUR was declared a late scratching after suffering a cut web in the false start. The lure was tested and the race restarted without any further problems. ADROIT (6) and STAR DREAMER (8) were the last pair on jumping. Into the bend WANDY LUCK (3) angled inwards tightening ELKI (2) who lost ground. ADROIT (6) then contacted the hindquarters of WANDY LUCK and fell with STAR DREAMER being badly checked and forced very wide. The faller ADROIT was free of injury when checked post race.
