Race 1	Welcome to Hatrick C1 - C1 - 305	BILLY BRAND jumped away well from box 8 angling inwards on to CHOCDEE ALICE with HILTON FRIDAY ducking back in across heels Racing in to the first bend BILLY BRAND moved inwards making contact with HILTON FRIDAY, BILLY BRAND became unbalanced for a couple of strides going back to a clear last in the running and never improved there after finishing several lengths in the rear at the line BILLY BRAND was referred to the vet for assessment where no abnormalities were found.
Race 2	B & P Engineering C2 - C2 - 305	JAGER was 1.4 kgs up from his last race start on 22-1-2014 Trainer J Clarke was surprised at the dogs weight today and could not offer any explanation as it was unintended . From the jump KAZILLION ran in sharply between runners towards the rail forcing JAGER to bump in to EXCESSIVE SPEED, YOUR ON FIRE also angled across almost catching heels losing some momentum. OPAWA PATCH was referred to the vet on returning to the kennel block where he was found to have suffered a cut to his left hind a 7 days stand down imposed
Race 3	Capital Paving C3 - C3 - 305	The field was tightly bunched racing in to the first turn GO FERN GO was tightened and ran up on the hind quarters ALL THE MILK as this runner attempted to get in, GO FERN GO fell with ALL THE MILK losing momentum for a couple of strides, NGAURUHOE hurdled over the back of ALL THE MILK as this dog came back on him NGAURUHOE ran wide losing ground running on for 2nd placing at the line BOB'S YOUR UNCLE raced handy in 2nd place to nearing the home turn where he went amiss drifting back finishing towards the rear at the line BOB'S YOUR UNCLE was referred to the vet for assessment and was found to have a dislocated right-side hock. GO FERN GO after falling regained her footing quickly to finish on to the lure some distance behind the field and was referred to the vet for assessment
Race 4	A1 Embroidery C3 - C3 - 305	LOST IN LIGHT was a late scratching later in the morning after the club were advised that she was showing signs of a seasonal complaint on being loaded to leave for the track with a 28 day stand down imposed A couple of strides out of the boxes AZURE DREAMS ran inwards forcing MICK MANIA in on to UNO ORANGE, MICK MANIA ran out of room and fell he regained his footing quickly to finish on to the lure some distance behind the and was referred to the vet for assessment where no abnormalities were found
Race 5	Cafe Cibo Upper Hutt C2/3 - C2/3 - 520	Soon after the start WHAT'S UP GEE angled outwards on to SASSY ROAD ( fav ) pushing her out on to BIGTIME JET, wider out SPACE RACE came across forcing CAWBOURNE TILLY back with CAWBOURNE BREE being pushed on to BIGTIME JET, all these runners were checked and tightened, SASSY ROAD was jostled and bumped having no room to improve ending up in the rear bunch racing in to the back straight ,SASSY ROAD attempted to make ground around runners across the top bend finishing in 4th placing at the line PHONE TAP in his first start for 3 months ran a gallant race for 2nd placing
Race 6	Peter Campbell Engravers C4 - C4 - 305	THRILLING MIGHT began awkwardly and as a result was slow to begin. STIFF DRINK improved up onto the heels of LITTLE RASCAL rounding the bend and shifted out abruptly forcing ENGLISH HONEY and ADDICTED over extra ground. LITTLE RASCAL was crowded rounding the bend between ENGLISH HONEY and HOMEBUSH LIGNITE which shifted out off the rail. Shortly after LITTLE RASCAL received a bump from THRILLING MIGHT which shifted out entering the home straight.
Race 7	Anglo Upholsterers C4 - C4/5 - 520	RILEY'S MATE bumped with BACKYARD BULLY for several strides approaching the first bend resulting in BACKYARD BULLY becoming unbalanced briefly. RILEY'S MATE shifted in abruptly towards the rail rounding the first bend making heavy contact with BOSTON CHANEL which lost ground.
Race 8	Brent Coull Memorial Final C2 - C2f - 305	AGENT JORGE was a late scratching at race presentation due to showing signs of dehydration a 7 day stand down was imposed . Soon after the start FLYING TRANCE ran in bumping SHOWEM BABY quite hard a few strides on JUMPIN SALLY angled inwards on to FLYING TRANCE and SHOWEM BABY , FLYING TRANCE was checked and forced back towards the rear , SHOWEM BABY was hampered for several strides losing ground back on the inner racing on to the bend FLYING TRANCE was bumped he ran outwards catching the hind quarters of TENKAY DOWN, ALL THE RAGE was forced to race wide on to the bend when avoiding these runners .
Race 9	Opawa Racing Wellington Cup Final Gp1 - C5f - 520	PIGGY BACK ( fav ) was only fairly away from midfield , he was bumped and jostled for some distance racing to the first bend , INDIANA IZMIR in the rear at the first bend was checked as he caught the back of runners coming back on him RIGS on the outer was forced to race wide around the first bend with eventual winner BRIGHTON BULLET . INDIANA IZMIR and RIGS were unable to improve their positions once into the back straight being the last two runners to the line.
Race 10	Wellington Champion Sprint Final C5 - C5f - 305	RUN LACEY RUN was slow away from box 7 soon after ARMED FORCES and AVERT came together bumping quite hard in to the first turn RUN LACEY RUN angled across causing tightening to DARLEK KHAN, OPAWA SISTER, LEADFOOT LENNY and STARLA on the inner STARLA made contact with the rail came out collided with LEADFOOT LENNY and AVERT, DARLEK KHAN on their outer was forced out wider as these runners came out on to him, WILD PUNTING in the lead at this point was able to get a couple of lengths on the field to hold on from the fast finishing ARMED FORCES and RUN LACEY RUN. STARLA was referred to the vet for assessment.
Race 11	Gold Band Finance C5 - C5 - 305	COSMIC FURY was a late scratching at 7.10pm after he was found to be suffering from Diarrhoea in his kennel a 5 day stand down was imposed NEED TO CHILL was awkwardly away from the start he was forced to race wide when improving his position, on the top bend he had to check over the heels of UNO ALLEGRO running widest and almost last ,NEED TO CHILL made ground strongly nearing the home turn to just miss out running his kennel mate down by a nose on the line, he could be considered to be one of the most unlucky runners on the night to get beaten.
Race 12	Committee Sprint C5 - C5 - 305	Soon after the start ROSEMORE OSTI angled across forcing LADY ANABELLA back as she ran on to FIERY DANCER , ROSEMORE OSTI went back a length then in on to LADY ANABELLA MOODY MAN and EXPOTENTIAL LILY all these runners were checked at this point, further on in to the bend ERUZA was tightened as HOMEBUSH SARGE angled in between runners pushing EXPOTENTIAL in on to ERUZA who lost ground back towards the rear, LADY ANABELLA raced widest throughout.
