CLAREMONT PIZZAZ (4) was badly checked into the bend as EMILY PATRICK (7) angled inwards with CLAREMONT PIZZAZ dropping to the rear. BOLT RAMA was also inconvenienced at this stage. KETUT (6) ran wide on the home turn losing momentum. On the home turn EMILY PATRICK angled outwards colliding with BLACK TRIGGER (8) for a stride. |
| Race 2 | racingdogs.co.nz Feature - C4 - 295 | GITCHA EASY (6) was tightened into the first bend as YABBA YABBA (7) crossed from his outside. Soon after ISABELLE DOMAIN (1) checked outwards off the back of runners pushing OPAWA WALLY (4) very wide with this runner losing his chance. HETFIELD (2) ran wide into the bend losing ground. On the home turn HOMEBUSH EDITH (5) and GITCHA EASY came together for a stride when well back. |
| Race 3 | Christchurch Casino Place Pick Feature - C3 - 520 | RED TYPHOON (8) was last to jump. RED TYPHOON then received a slight check into the first bend as BOTANY SEATON (6) angled outwards. At the entrance to the back straight RED TYPHOON checked off the heels of OPAWA BOMB (3) when attempting to improve and lost momentum. OPAWA BOMB was held up on the home turn behind the tiring VOREDA (5) and then ran outwards pushing OHOKA FRENCHI (7) over extra ground. |
| Race 4 | Carol's T.A.B. Feature - R/A - 520 | CAWBOURNE POLLY (4) and IDOL GIRL (5) came together in the initial stages and settled at the rear. CAWBOURNE POLLY was then tightened into the bend and lost ground. KNOW SECURITY (2) shifted outwards into the first bend forcing IDOL GIRL a touch wide. SPEEDY KAZZA (1) ran wide on the home turn with IDOL GIRL again being forced wider on the track. |
| Race 5 | David Emerson Consultancy Feature - R/A - 520 | ROCKY BAXTER (6) was last to jump. VALIDATION (2) was tightened and then checked off heels in the run to the first bend and then ran outwards severely checking BOTANY KEVIN (7) with this pair losing ground. |
| Race 6 | Nigel "Sharkie" Clark Memorial Cup - C5 - 520 | GORDON BALE (4) was subject to a veterinary check on the way to the boxes due to appearing to be lame. No abnormality was found and the dog passed fit to race. GORDON BALE ran inwards in the early stages causing severe tightening to JINJARANGO (3) and RUSSELL HART (2) who lost ground. Soon after OPAWA WEBBY (5) angled inwards causing more disruption to GORDON BALE, JINJARANGO and RUSSELL HART. On the first bend KNOW CLASS (6) shouldered CABOUL (1) out of the way when improving. RUSSELL HART ran wide on the home turn losing ground. |
| Race 7 | Super Pets Galaxy - C5f - 295 | ZEBIDIAH (2) and KNOW MISTAKE (4) were the last pair on jumping. NEED TO CHILL (6) ran inwards coming together with the favourite DIXIE LEE (5) in the early stages. WILD PUNTING (7) then crossed the pair with both dogs losing ground. NIPPA MARY (1) was inclined to run outwards on the home turn pushing NEED TO CHILL and KNOW ADVANTAGE (8) wider on the track. DIXIE LEE also scouted wide on the home turn losing ground and finishing at the rear. As a precaution DIXIE LEE was referred to the vet for assessment where no injury was detected. |
| Race 8 | MAC Developments Feature - C1d - 645 | KNOW ATTEMPT (5) and BIGTIME KELINA (7) were the slowest in the initial stages as a result of GOLDSTAR BELLA (9) shifting outwards. GOLDSTAR BELLA and PINDARI (6) were tightened into the first bend and lost ground. SASHA'S ONE (8) ran wide with a lap to go pushing KNOW ATTEMPT wider when that runner was attempting to improve. |
| Race 9 | Buy Sell & Exchange NZ Cup - C5f - 520 | SPEED LEGEND (4) and STARBURST CLEMMY (8) were the last pair on settling. Into the first bend OPAWA SWEDE (5) angled inwards causing some tightening to the favourite RAW ENERGY (2) who lost ground. BRIGHTON BULLET (9) and WAYLEGGO (7) raced wide on that bend when inconvenienced by RAW ENERGY losing ground. OPAWA SWEDE shifted outwards into the back straight causing PIGGY BACK (6) to change ground to the inside. At the end of the back straight RAW ENERGY was again tightened as WAYLEGGO improved to his outside. |
| Race 10 | Chris & Lisa Earl Feature - C4 - 520 | PSEUDONYM (7) and BOSTON CHANEL (8) were slow to jump with FLYING MOE (5) being badly checked in the initial stages and dropping to the rear. OPAWA STYLE (3) was badly tightened into the first bend and lost ground. PSEUDONYM raced wide around the final bend causing BOSTON CHANEL to cover extra ground. |
| Race 11 | 2013 I Pave Concrete Sockburn Cup - C2d - 732 | LITTLE TEEGAN (8) was last to jump. Into the first bend BUDDY BROKE (2) checked off the heels of RETALIATE FIRST (4) and lost ground. OSTI'S PURSUIT (6) ran wide on the first bend losing ground. |
| Race 12 | Garden City Chem-Dry Feature - C5 - 295 | SOPHIE'S TERRA (2) was a clear last on jumping. SAHARA RAMA (7) ran outwards in the back straight forcing SOZIN'S COMET (8) over extra ground before that runner changed ground towards the inside. Closer in STING ME (4) ran inwards causing tightening to CALL ME RALPH (3) and SOPHIE'S TERRA who lost ground. CALL ME RALPH (3) angled outwards on the home turn pushing SOPHIE'S TERRA very wide. Late in the run home GO HOUSIE (1) ran outwards checking BELLWAVE (6) for a stride. |
