Health and Safety comment:

Judicial report: Stewards open and adjourned an enquiry into the nomination, acceptance and subsequent scratching of OPAWA NATTY at both venues today. OPAWA NATTY was produced at Christchurch GRC today and stood down from the 7th of October for 14 days after a veterinarian examination. This matter has now been referred to GRNZ.
There was a slight delay to the loading process in Race 6 when the handler of THEOKOLES had problems loading the dog. The trainer and handler were both spoken to advisedly.

Race 1	Brian Bagley Driver Licensing Sprint - C0 - 310	ZULU DEB, UNO NOSEY and TEPIRITA SNOOP were all slow to begin. ANOTHER WARNING and BIT PERUSA jostled down the back straight and racing into the bend ANOTHER WARNING lost ground when crowded for room. Into the bend ZULU DEB was forced wider on the track when checking out off heels also taking ANOTHER WARNING wider.
Race 2	www.greyhoundsaspets.org.nz - C0 - 545	CEE ACH GEE and TEPIRITA ZITA were slow to begin. MAGDALENE and TEPIRITA ZITA made heavy contact racing towards the first bend. Further into the bend MAGDALENE was tightened between runners and lost ground. Racing into the back straight CEE ACH GEE had to check off the heels of TEPIRITA ZITA.
Race 3	Roofing Solutions Stakes - C1 - 545	PUKEKO EXPRESS and PUKEKO RAPTOR were both slow to begin. Into the final bend SCOTSOME POWER shifted wider on the track. On the point of the bend. TANTO'S WHISPER struck the back of and brought down MISS OZARK. As a result trailing OPAWA CASSIDY struck the back of TANTO'S WHISPER and fell. Both fallen runners finished the race. Stewards ordered post race veterinarian examinations of both dogs with no abnormalities detected.
Race 4	Green Island Barber Stakes - C1/2 - 545	CHILL OUT RALPH and OPAWA PEEKAY were slow to begin. Racing into the first bend OPAWA STRETCH was checked when making contact with OPAWA MARG who shifted out. Racing into the back straight CHILL OUT RALPH had to steady when improving onto the heels of OPAWA MARG. SHADOW WOLF raced very wide down the back straight.
Race 5	St Kilda Veterinary Centre Sprint - C1 - 310	HAZZA'S LAD was checked and lost ground racing down the back straight. Racing towards the bend SAM'S FLYIN NORM shifted in and tightened FLIRT WITH ME who made contact with the running rail. Into the bend SAM'S FLYIN NORM has lost ground when awkwardly placed on the back of OKUKU BOBO.
Race 6	Keyosk Service Bar Sprint - C2 - 310	HAZZA'S GOT SWAG began awkwardly losing ground. Into the bend MAX'S LAD was checked and had to shift ground outwards. Simultaneous to this WELLYWOOD was checked and lost ground when checked by SHEZA GAMBLE. Shortly after this MAX'S LAD galloped on and brought down WELLYWOOD. As a result of this incident THEOKOLES was forced wider on the track. WELLYWOOD regained it's feet and completed the race.Stewards ordered a veterinary examination of WELLYWOOD which revealed no abnormalities.
Race 7	Brocklebanks Dry Cleaners Stakes - C2/3 - 545	BOB'S EYE and WANDY ON IN made firm contact over the early stages. Racing into the first bend OPULENT shifted in tightening OPAWA STYLE with CAWBOURNE KEISHA and NOISY LEO being checked. All four dogs lost considerable momentum in this incident. Into the bend BOB'S EYE shifted out making contact with CAWBOURNE KEISHA who was forced out onto NOISY LEO with both these runners being hampered.
Race 8	Pryde Engineering Stakes - C4 - 545	COVER TO COVER ran very wide over the early stages after being slow to begin. ADULTEROUS and FLYING MOE were both slow to begin. Racing into the first bend SPEEDY KAZZA ran wide dictating FLYING MOE and BANBIT wider on the track. ADULTEROUS was held up and had to check when on heels racing well into the final bend.
Race 9	Group 2 Far South Challenge Final - C5f - 545	RODRIGUEZ and KNOW ATTEMPT were both slow to jump. RUSSELL HART and OPAWA SWEDE made contact on 2 occasions in the early stages. On the final bend ADMIRE became awkwardly placed on heels of the runner in front and lost momentum.
Race 10	Speedprint Shop Sprint - C3 - 310	As the field tightened racing into the bend both HOMEBUSH CRUDEN and EMBEE DEE were crowded and lost momentum. Turning for home BLICKLING BRIDGE clipped the rear of CAWBOURNE DASHER with both runners losing ground. .
Race 11	Bramwells Scaffolding Sprint - C4 - 310	HOMEBUSH EDITH was slow to begin. Racing down the back straight RAMRADA shifted out checking HOMEBUSH EDITH. Racing towards the bend TAIERI PLAINS shifted out off the rail becoming awkwardly placed and losing ground.
Race 12	Racing Again Tuesday 22nd October Dash - C5 - 310	Racing into the bend ATTACK WILDE has checked out off the heels off BUGSY BANGLES taking JENNINGS, MR WHIPPY and KNOW JEALOUSY wider on the track with all runners losing their chance.
