Into the bend RINGA DING (4) checked off the back of OPAWA NO EAR (5) and into the path of LINCOLN FLYER (6) who badly checked GOTTA GO ACE who fell. GOTTA GO ACE was referred to the vet for assessment. Kirsty Taylor the co-trainer of CAMPAIGNER advised that the turn around in form could only be attributed to the fact that the dog had been freshened since its last start and had been working well of late after the brief spell. |
| Race 2 | Hampden Tavern Dash - C4 - 295 | PICK THE TIP (4) and FLIP THE DICE (8) were the last pair on jumping. PURE AND SPECIAL (5) ran inwards in the early stages tightening OPAWA RUFUS (3) and coming together with BATIATUS (2) for a stride. Following the race OPAWA RUFUS and PICK THE TIP were referred to the vet for assessment. |
| Race 3 | Thursday Place Pick Stakes - C3 - 520 | KNOW SPUNK (7) faltered in the early stages and tailed the field throughout with this dog being referred to the vet for assessment. NOISY LEO (4) and AXEL GRINDER (5) jostled for several strides into the first bend and lost ground. On that bend the favourite CABOUL (6) checked off the back of GIRL RACER (3) and pushed OHOKA FRENCHI (8) wider on the track. |
| Race 4 | Flair Lightning Sprint Heat 1 - C5q - 295 Heat 1 | ATE PIZZA (4) dropped to the rear in the early stages after KNOW RIVAL (2) angled outwards and made contact. KNOW RIVAL was held up behind a line of dogs on the home turn and checked very wide in order to find racing room. In this process he collected the hind quarters of DRYSDALE (6) with both dogs losing ground and their chances. |
| Race 5 | Flair Lightning Sprint Heat 2 - C5q - 295 Heat 2 | ETCHED IN STONE (1) and WANDY DEVIL (7) were the last pair on jumping. DAMARJO (2) ran sharply outwards in the early stages checking ANOTHER COLT (9) and KNOW JEALOUSY (4) who both lost ground. The favourite MORE BETTER (8) led on the bend but was dragged down from behind by HOMEBUSH SARGE (5) and lost momentum. HOMEBUSH SARGE then ran wide pushing WANDY GENO (6) over extra ground. MORE BETTER when unbalanced then angled wide causing checks to DAMARJO, HOMEBUSH SARGE and WANDY GENO with this quartet all losing ground. MORE BETTER was referred to the vet for assessment. |
| Race 6 | Flair Lightning Sprint Heat 3 - C5q - 295 Heat 3 | KNOW LIES (7) was slow to jump. CALLAHAN (1) was checked as GO HOUSIE (2) ran inwards in the initial stages with CALLAHAN settling well back. In the back straight RODRIGUEZ (4) and LIFE'S A LAUGH (5) brushed together for a stride. |
| Race 7 | Flair Lightning Sprint Heat 4 - C5q - 295 Heat 4 | HOMEBUSH HELEN (1) and KNOW ADVANTAGE (2) were a shade slow to jump. SWIP AND TEAR (4) was tightened into the bend and dropped to the rear. KNOW ADVANTAGE shifted up the track on the bend when improving checking BUTTERBEAN (7) who lost ground. |
| Race 8 | Kolorful Kanvas Christchurch Classic Final - R/Af - 520 | THRILLING BRAVE (5) and MR. JIMMY (8) were the last pair on jumping. GIRL PRIDE (6) ran inwards checking THRILLING BRAVE in the initial stages. FALSE NOTION (3) ran outwards in the early stages checking GIRL PRIDE who lost ground. THRILLING GIGGLE (1) was forced to change ground outwards in the run to the first bend as PALUCKA (2) was forced inwards by OPAWA STRETCH (4). MR. JIMMY was forced wide around the first bend and then checked off THRILLING BRAVE losing a length.. |
| Race 9 | 2013 Kingston Cup Final - C2df - 732 | RETALIATE FIRST (6) and BIGTIME KELINA (7) dropped to the rear in the early stages after they collided. Simultaneously THRILLING BRAT (3) shifted outwards pushing KNOW PERIL (4) wider. KNOW PERIL was then tightened into the first bend as UNSHAKEN (8) angled inwards. With a lap to run BIGTIME KELINA received some tightening and lost ground. |
| Race 10 | I Pave Concrete Stakes - C4 - 520 | OPAWA MIDNIGHT (2), STARBURST CLEMMY (4) and RED TYPHOON (8) were the last trio on settling. TAKE A TRICK (6) angled outwards into the first bend pushing RED TYPHOON wider on the track as that dog was attempting to improve. OPAWA MIDNIGHT appeared to run outwards inconveniencing STARBURST CLEMMY for a few strides at the entrance to the back straight with both runners losing ground. |
| Race 11 | David Emerson Consultancy Stakes - C5 - 520 | OPAWA SWEDE (9) ran inwards in the early stages causing tightening to ZARISHEL (5), KNOW CLASS (4) and NO UNDIES SUNDY (2) who settled at the rear. When contesting the lead into the first bend BANBIT (7) was dragged down by INDI'S GRACE (8) with BANBIT dropping to a rearward position. Soon after ZARISHEL was tightened and lost momentum after contacting INDI'S GRACE who also lost a length. On the home turn NO UNDIES SUNDY angled outwards pushing INDI'S GRACE wider on the track. |
| Race 12 | Speight's Sprint - C4 - 295 | TRANS TASMAN (1) and OPAWA LEGS (3) were the last pair to jump. ATTACK WIDE (4) angled outwards when improving into the bend checking SMASH AMY (5) and pushing MEMPHIS HOTCAKES (7) and OPAWA LEGS very wide on the track. |
