Track: Good The meeting proceeded smoothly with racing on a well presented track and the equipment functioning well throughout the programme.
Scales: Checked and correct
Health and Safety comment: Nil

Judicial report: The meeting was put back by one race for the entire programme due to the disruption to communications with the T.A.B in Petone as a result of the earthquake which occurred earlier in the afternoon.

Race 1	ABSOLUTELY ELECTRICAL C3 - C3 - 305	KAZILLION shifted in from the start and hampered OPAWA PRINCE and STEVIE'S MAGIC for a couple of strides. CREME DA GENES checked off the heels of FIERCE STAR and lost a length on the bend. GOGO RIOLI shifted in approaching the home turn and was checked from behind when FIERCE STAR made contact with her hind quarters with both runners losing ground in the incident.
Race 2	HARRISON HIRE MASTER C3 - C3 - 520	FASTBACK KING, TENKAY DOWN and BUMPA STICKER were slow to begin and settled back. FASTBACK KING made up ground well with benefit of a clear inside run and finished in 3rd place but the other two stayed back to finish at the rear. ANOTHER DOLLAR shifted in when leading going into the first corner and hampered MISSING MELODY for a couple of strides but MISSING MELODY went clear soon after and went on to win the race.
Race 3	J.P. PRINT (PETONE) C3 - C3 - 520	ODE TO LIBERTY shifted in going into the lead on the first corner and placed HELLO ELLO and EL JETTA in restricted room for a few strides but they recovered quickly to go on and finish in 1st and 2nd places. ODE TO LIBERTY led until the end of the back straight but compounded from there and finished in last place and was referred to the Vet for assessment and cleared of injury. OSTAPCHUK and NECTER were checked going into the back straight losing ground with NECTER the most affected and she stayed back to finish in 2nd last place.
Race 4	GARY ROSS DECORATOR C4 - C4 - 305	ANOTHER GON and BELKARA jostled together going to the first corner and both lost ground. Soon after, COSMIC FURY shifted in and BELKARA was tightened , went back and was galloped on by SWAPAN losing several lengths and all chance and finished in last place. COSMIC FURY then shifted out on the bend and checked over the back of RED MOOVA HOOVA and WORKING WORKING losing ground and he finished in 2nd last place
Race 5	PALAMOUNTAINS NUTRITION C4 - C4 - 305	HOT KING COLE shifted in going to the first corner and put pressure onto GO FERN GO for some distance and eventually GO FERN GO dropped back onto LEGEND BEE and TIME'S UP and they lost three lengths and stayed back to finish in the last two places. MATILDA'S BABE drew box 8 and was a little slow to begin and was forced to race wide throughout covering extra ground and finished in 4th place.
Race 6	Mickey's Super Liquor C2 Final - C2f - 520	SENORITA CHANG shifted out from the start and caused jostling and checks to PALUCKA and GRADUATION and they lost a little ground. GRADUATION shifted in going into the first turn and caused checks to BUBLIN GOLD and PALUCKA and they lost ground and went back to the rear. SENORITA CHANG was also affected and she shifted out causing checks to THRILLING TERROR, BIGTIME TIP and ANOTHER COURSE and they lost several lengths. THRILLING TERROR suffered a small knee wound and was referred to the Vet for assessment.
Race 7	CROMBIE LOCKWOOD (NZ) LTD C5 - C5 - 520	HYPOTENTIAL shifted out from the start and tightened SPACE RACE and INDIANA IZMIR and they were placed in restricted room for a few strides. INDIANA IZMIR recovered well to win the race but SPACE RACE was checked again on the first bend when INDIANA IZMIR shifted in and checked LAUGH LIKE SANTA which went back onto BIGTIME KAREN and SPACE RACE and they stayed back to finish at the rear.
Race 8	MORRIE GIBBONS SIGNS C4/5 - C4/5 - 305	FLYING FLYNN and ENAZUMA dwelt slightly when the start was made and settled back and stayed there to finish in the rear group. DARLYNE OTTEY checked off the heels of LEADFOOT LENNY going into the bend and they both lost two lengths. DARLYNE OTTEY recovered to finish in 2nd place with LEADFOOT LENNY in 4th place.
Race 9	GUTHRIE BOWRON C3/4 - C3/4 - 520	THRILLING CAIRO shifted in going into the first bend and caused checks to BACKYARD BULLY and CAWBOURNE TILLY with BACKYARD BULLY the most affected and he lost several lengths and stayed back for the remainder of the race to finish in last place.
Race 10	Brad Canty Wanganui Cup Final C5 - C5f - 520	SPEED LEGEND was a little slow to begin and was still well back going into the first corner but secured a relatively clear run through on the inside and finished very well for 2nd place. KATCHA FIRE checked over the heels of RENE RANGER going into the first corner and ran wide into the bend covering extra ground and she stayed back to finish in last place.
Race 11	WANGANUI SECURITY C4/5 - C4/5 - 305	After racing in a handy position, AVERT shifted out going into the bend and made contact with WILD PUNTING with both runners losing several lengths and all chance.
Race 12	THE ROCK 95.2FM C4/5 - C4/5 - 305	SLANGEVAR and TIZ NOW were the slowest to begin losing two lengths. UNO ALLEGRO was handy on the inside of COMPLICIT going to the first corner but was checked and went back through the field and RADIATOR SPRINGS was unable to avoid COMPLICIT and they both lost several lengths.
