Track: Good The track was very well presented and with all equipment functioning well, the Wellington Clubs big night of the year proceeded smoothly with some outstanding racing on show.

Judicial report: PEDRO'S FIRST completed a satisfactory trial which was required under Rule 81.

Race 1	Welcome Sprint C2 - C2 - 305	COOL EXPLORER was slow to begin losing two lengths. BELFAST GLENDA checked over the heels of ALL THE RAGE on the bend and shifted out to run very wide into the straight losing ground and she finished in 2nd last place.
Race 2	Peter Campbell Engravers C4 - C4 - 305	WISE CRACK LAD ran very wide on the bend and into the straight covering extra ground and finished in 2nd last place. The favourite SECRET SPRITE drew box 7 and was required to race wide throughout and bumped with YALDHURST EDWARD in the home straight losing momentum and finished in 4th place.
Race 3	Gold Band Finance C4 - C4 - 305	SAFE AND SECURE and SUIT YOURSELF were slow to begin losing two lengths. SAFE AND SECURE made up ground well to finish in 3rd place but SUIT YOURSELF stayed back throughout and finished in last place.
Race 4	Brownzy Sports Bar C2 - C2 - 520	All clear.
Race 5	Anglo Upholstery ( Seaview) C4 - C4 - 305	HOMEBUSH BORIS shifted in from the start and hampered FLAG WAVER and OKUKU WEE MAN for a couple of strides. OKUKU WEE MAN checked over the heels of LITTLE WISHES approaching the home turn and shifted out forcing TALEEDY TROOPER and GEORGE BAXTER very wide into the straight and they lost ground and finished at the rear.
Race 6	Committee Sprint C3 - C3 - 305	GEM'S CONQUEST and SYDENHAM SAM jostled together going to the first corner and SYDENHAM SAM then made contact with SYDENHAM BUBBLES on its outside causing that runner to collide with SCOTT ME GOING and they both fell and were referred to the Vet for assessment. SYDENHAM SAM also lost ground in the incident. PARRA SPARRA checked over the heels of CAWBOURNE STEFFI entering the home straight and shifted out to collide with SHARI JEWEL and they both lost momentum. SYDENHAM BUBBLES was cleared of injury.
Race 7	R/A Feature - R/A - 520	THANKS CHARLIE checked off the back of FIRE BOY BAXTER going to the first corner and shifted out forcing KNOW ATTEMPT and THRILLING AVA very wide and all three dogs lost several lengths and all chance. BACKYARD BULLY and FIRE BOY BAXTER were checked and lost three lengths approaching the back straight.
Race 8	B & P Engineering Upper Hutt C4/5 - C4/5 - 520	BIGTIME KINVARA shifted in going into the first bend and checked STILL HELINA who fell and SHOULD BE CARLOS and ZAMDATO were unable to avoid the fallen runner and also fell. Soon after, KANGO KLINK appeared to clip the heels of COOL IZMIR and also fell and CHAINSAW PETE was badly checked in this incident and lost ground. All four dogs that fell and also CHAINSAW PETE were referred to the Vet for assessment. ZAMDATO was suspected to have turned its head to marr CHAINSAW PETE in the home straight but there was no film evidence to support any charge against ZAMDATO and no action was taken on the matter.
Race 9	Brent Coull Memorial Final C2 - C2f - 305	HOMEBUSH COLT, RED HERRING and MAINLAND SONIC were slow to begin losing two lengths. SURF QUAKE shifted in on the first corner and checked HEY YOU who lost two lengths. CAWBOURNE TOBES was checked on the bend and went back onto HOMEBUSH COLT and they lost three lengths and stayed back to finish in the last two places.
Race 10	Opawa Racing Ltd Wellington Cup Final C5 - C5f - 520	KNOW CLASS was slow to begin losing three lengths. ATE TO MUCH was checked going into the back straight and lost two lengths. KNOW CLASS checked off the heels of ATE TO MUCH going into the final bend and went back onto JINJARANGO with both dogs losing four lengths and they finished in the last two places.
Race 11	www. anguslittle.com Wellington Champion Sprint Final C5 - C5f - 305	GURU GOOSE shifted in going to the first corner and soon after, LOUIE MACHALL also shifted in and as a result a number of runners were hampered and lost ground with FLYING FLYNN, WEE DIGER, ENAZUMA and GLENADDIS the most affected and they went into the bend at the rear of the field.
Race 12	A.1 Embroidery C5 - C5 - 305	ANOTHER LADY began a little awkwardly, settled at the rear and stayed there throughout the race. THRILLING ISSUES and THIS IS SWIP raced wide on the bend over extra ground.
