2024 Member Nominated Director

The New Zealand Greyhound Racing Association, also known as Greyhound Racing New Zealand (GRNZ), is the governing body for all Greyhound Racing in New Zealand, as authorised by the Racing Act 2020. GRNZ leads a small but dynamic Code working within the Racing Industry to improve the overall commercial viability of Racing for all stakeholders. This is an interesting and challenging role in an industry that is a significant contributor to the New Zealand economy.

GRNZ now seeks nominations for one Member Nominated Director vacancy. The term of appointment is for three years from the November 2024 AGM.

Ideally, nominees will be skilled in two or more of the following areas:

● Championing collective board accountability for maximising animal welfare

● Business and financial management

● Racing, especially Greyhound Racing exposure

● Governance and boardroom exposure/experience

● Project and change management experience (given the industry-wide reforms)

● Relatable to stakeholders, especially clubs

An interest or background in greyhound racing is desirable, an understanding of how sporting bodies or membership organisations work, and an understanding of the relationship between member clubs, other stakeholders, and a governing body such as GRNZ, would be a distinct advantage.
