Finalists Decided for 2022 GRNZ Awards

This year the GRNZ Awards for Sprinter, Middle Distance, Stayer, NZ Bred, Sire and Dam will be decided by the same panel of media personalities that decide Greyhound of the Year.

 

The panel have made their initial deliberations on each category and a list of Finalists has been compiled for each category.  Panelists were invited to each supply between one and three finalists for each award and any greyhound receiving at least two votes has become a finalist.

 

It will come as no surprise to Greyhound fans to find that there is only one finalist for Stayer of the Year - Know Keeper.  So GRNZ can announce that Know Keeper is the Stayer of the Year for 2022.

 

The other categories were not so clear cut with five finalists announced for Sprinter, four each for Sire and Dam, and three each for Middle Distance and NZ Bred.

 

Winners of these awards will be announced at the GRNZ Awards night on Saturday 17 September.

 

Other awards already decided are 2022 Trainer of the year, Lisa Cole and 2022 Strike-Rate Trainer, Samantha Phillips.
