Some Raceday Protocols Ease Under Traffic Light System

The new Covid Traffic Light system changes the procedure to enter a racecourse but eases some Raceday protocols once you're oncourse.

Under any coloured Traffic Light, to gain entry to a racetrack you will be required to show your My Vaccine Pass as proof of full vaccination, or up until Monday 17 January LPs may enter with proof of their first vaccination - this could be by producing your purple paper vaccine card; or by displaying your ‘My Covid Record’ webpage on the Ministry of Health ‘My Health’; or by displaying evidence of your second vaccine booking via Text message from 2328.

You must continue to scan the track QR code into your Covid Tracer App.

It is recommended that Face Coverings continue to be worn at all times, but they are only Mandatory during Kennelling and when retrieving your greyhound from the Kennels.

Physical distancing of 1m is required, and keep up good hand hygiene.

You may leave the racetrack and return during the raceday but will have to follow entry Protocols each time.

Racedays are "Events" under the Covid Protection Framework and further information can be found here:

https://www.business.govt.nz/covid-19/covid-19-protection-framework/events/

NOTE:  Other businesses on a racetrack such as Restaurants and Bars will be operating under their own requirements.  If you wish to enter these businesses you will be doing so as a customer and will almost certainly be required to show proof of full vaccination.

As the Traffic Light framework is new it may be subject to change, especially if case numbers begin to climb or the Omicron variant arrives in New Zealand.  So please keep up good habits of obtaining provisions and petrol from your local suppliers and making use of the Covid Tracer App.
