Job description

The Great Mates Greyhound Rehoming Programme helps prepare each greyhound for their new lives as pets. Our programme provides each of our greyhounds with full assessments, training, grooming, dental, vet care and desexing as well as on-going care whilst in our rehoming kennels . Once a greyhound graduates from our rehoming programme, one of our wonderful adoption partners puts it up for adoption and matches them with their perfect family. We are currently looking to employ another 2 casual on-call team members to join us in our amazing Greyhound rehoming facility. Ideally you will have experience working with animals ( especially dogs ) and enjoy being in the great outdoors, even when it’s cold, wet and windy. Most importantly you will be available at the drop of a hat if required to cover annual leave, sick leave etc. No 2 weeks will be the same as some weeks there could be up to 40 hours work and the following week there could be no work. This is a physically demanding job so a reasonable fitness level will be required. Duties include: Walking (lots of walking), playing with and exercising the dogs, cleaning kennels, feeding dogs, basic grooming, provide ongoing enrichment, medicating dogs as required, playing with our small dogs and hanging out with the cats. Potential assistance with assessments, training and transporting to vets etc may be required at times too.
