Resumption of Racing - Stake Levels Through the to End of the 2019-2020 Season

Dear Greyhound Racing Participants,

Following discussions with the Codes and industry consultation on a draft racing calendar for a resumption of racing, we have received confirmation of RITA’s transitional funding for the remainder of the racing season. The distribution from RITA reflects the reduced racing over the period and the phased return to racing for each Code.

GRNZ can now provide clarity regarding funding for industry participants when racing resumes.

For the remainder of the season, all previously scheduled group, feature and NZRS races will be replaced with standard grade races. In addition, owner/breeder bonus payments will not be made. GRNZ does confirm that minimum stakes will remain at the current levels.

The GRNZ Board has also waived licence renewal fees for the 2020/21 season for existing LPs.

GRNZ and the other Codes are currently working with RITA on funding and race dates for the 2020/21 season and further updates on this will be provided as more information comes to hand.

GRNZ thanks you for your patience while we have worked through this process for the resumption of racing in May. It is pleasing to see our dogs back at the track under Alert Level 3 this week and we appreciate the work of those who are implementing the protocols at clubs across the country. We emphasise the importance of everyone tightly adhering to all of these protocols in order to ensure we can continue to race.

The GRNZ team will continue to keep you updated on any changes and any further information as soon as we receive it. All information will be communicated through our Facebook page and website.

Thanks,
The GRNZ Team
