2017 Box draw audit

Enhancements now complete and inplace.

Some months ago I made a commitment that I would have the current box draw independently audited. The last box draw audit was done back in October 2013 by Crowe Horwath which was has been available on the GRNZ website.

GRNZ requested a review of the integrity of the processes in place to select box draws for greyhound races conducted for Greyhound meetings within New Zealand. The scope of this review was to determine that there are adequate controls to ensure the integrity of the box draw process.

You can view the report and recommendations by clicking Box draw audit and click here for Recommendations

GRNZ has already addressed two of the recommendations by:

1 - having our IT provider source new software that will allow a scramble of the dogs prior to the actual box draw

2 - having the computer system generate an email every time there is a redraw, all redraws must be signed off by the Head of Racing or their delegate in their absence

The computer system already logs all relevant detail on who, why, and what time a redraw takes occurs.

3 - the third recommendation is a work in progress which is implementing national field selections, updates on this will be made as this project progresses.
